Genital Disappearance: Mechanic jailed six months for raising false alarm in Abuja

On Wednesday, the Lugbe Grade I Area Court sentenced a 27-year-old mechanic, Shedrack Zamdai, to six months’ imprisonment for raising a false alarm over the disappearance of his genitals.
The judge, Aliyu Kagarko, sentenced Mr Zamdai after he pleaded guilty to defamation of character, inciting disturbance, and giving false information.
Mr Kagarko also gave the convict the option of paying a N25,000 fine or jail term.
The prosecution counsel, Stanley Nwaforaku, had earlier told the court that the convict conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace in public.
According to him, the convict accused Rabiu Idris, Badamasi Hamisu, and Usman Abdullahi, all of Kurufuma village, of ”stealing” his genitals at Asokoro Police Station.
He further said that during the police investigation, the convict was taken to the hospital at Garki 2, where he was confirmed okay.
He said the offence contravened sections 391, 114, and 140 of the Penal Code.
