Global coronavirus cases cross 90million

In Nigeria, over 99,000 cases of coronavirus have been recorded.

The number of coronavirus cases reported globally on Sunday crossed 90million.

According to Worldometer, 90,177,626 cases of coronavirus have been recorded across the world, 1,936,632 persons have died due to the pandemic, while 64,575,317 persons have recovered from the deadly virus.

Since the pandemic broke out in China in 2019, it has spread across 218 countries, disrupting social and economic life around the world with major sport, entertainment and religious events postponed or outrightly cancelled.

The first wave of coronavirus compelled governments across the world to declare months lockdown in 2020 to curtail the spread of the virus.

Countries like the UK and France have embarked on another lockdown as the second wave of coronavirus continues to ravage the world.

More than other countries, the United States has recorded cases and deaths due to the pandemic. Over 22million cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the United States, while over 380,000 have died due to the pandemic.

Brazil has recorded 8million cases of coronavirus and over 200,000 deaths. India has recorded over 10million cases of coronavirus and over 150,000 deaths due to the pandemic.

In the UK over 3million coronavirus cases have been recorded, while over 80 have died as a result of the pandemic.

In Nigeria, over 99,000 cases of coronavirus have been recorded. More than 79,000 have been treated and discharged while over 1,300 have died as a result of the virus.
