Golden Eaglets qualify for WAFU U-17 final

Nigerian Golden Eaglets on Friday defeated Burkina Faso under 17 team to qualify for the finals at the ongoing West African Football Union (WAFU) Tournament for players under the age of 17, taking place in Lome, Togo.
Michael Emmanuel’s 77th minute goal gave the Eaglets victory over Burkina Faso as the game ended 1-0 in favour of the Nigerian side.
Nigeria will play against Cote d’Ivoire in the final scheduled to hold in Lome on January 18.
Friday’s victory also qualified Eaglets for the African edition of the under 17 competition to be held in Morocco in March.
Nigerian Golden Eaglets remain the most successful team in the age-grade competition, having won the U-17 World Cup five times.
