Golden Glove: Morocco’s Bounou wins AFCON 2025 best goalkeeper award

Reigning CAF goalkeeper of the year, Yassine Bounou, has been awarded the Golden Glove as the best goalkeeper of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.
The Golden Glove adds to Bounou’s ‘CAF Goalkeeper of the Year’ award.
Bounou was a reliable shot-stopper for Morocco’s Atlas Lions at the competition, keeping five clean sheets in seven matches, the joint-most in the tournament alongside Senegal’s Édouard Mendy.
In between the sticks, Bounou conceded only two goals on Morocco’s run to the final, producing a series of saves.
Bounou’s heroics against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the semi-final helped Morocco to win the penalties.
