Gombe Gov. Yahaya commends peaceful conduct of LG polls

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has commended the peaceful conduct of the local government election in the state.
Mr Yahaya said this on Saturday after he cast his vote at a polling unit located at Government Science Secondary School, Gombe.
He expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the election and commended voters for coming out en masse to exercise their civic responsibility.
The governor also lauded security agencies, election officials, and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a hitch-free process.
Mr Yahaya enjoined residents of the state to remain peaceful throughout the exercise, stressing the importance of maintaining peace and stability.
He advised political parties and their supporters to accept the outcome of the election in good faith and pursue their grievances through lawful means.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening democratic governance and supporting elected council officials to enable them to deliver meaningful development at the grassroots.
The Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) is conducting the election for local council chairmen and councillors across the state’s 11 local government areas and 13 development areas.
