Gombe LG Poll: We’ll work with winners, says Governor Yahaha

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has pledged to work with those who will emerge as the candidates for the election local government elections held on Saturday.
Mr Yahaya said this in an interview with journalists shortly after casting his vote at about 11:16 a.m. at Yahaya Umar 010 polling unit in Jekadafari Ward, Gombe.
The governor said his concern was delivering good governance, adding that he was ready to work with the incoming local government chairmen to meet the people’s aspirations.
According to him, the poll was conducted in compliance with electoral law and best global practice.
“The plan for the local government area poll was to conduct the election in accordance with best practices and ensure a level playing field for every political party and contestant.
“That is why the people are happy, as you can see on their faces, and we will ensure that we continue with the smooth process and conduct.
“I urge the people to be of good conduct and ensure a peaceful process so that whoever emerges will be supported to deliver on the people’s needs,” he said.
The governor expressed confidence that his party would sweep the polls “because the people are happy with our performance”.
