Gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his girlfriend Salome Adaidu.

Gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his girlfriend Salome Adaidu.

The 32-year-old murder suspect made the plea during his arraignment before Justice Simon Aboki of the Nasarawa High Court, Lafia Division, on Monday.

The suspect allegedly killed his 24-year-old girlfriend, a corps member serving at Nicon Insurance, in Abuja, on January 12, when she visited him at his house in the Papalana axis at New Karshi in Karu LGA. 

He was allegedly caught on a motorcycle with the deceased’s severed head.

His alleged murder of the deceased is contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and punishable by death.

He was paraded at the police command headquarters alongside the knife and machetes he allegedly used to commit the crime, with jealousy cited as a reason.
