Nigerian female artists have again proven their mettle as legendary music icon Tiwa Savage and newly signed DMW artist, Liya, dropped their remarkable EP’s this week.

The “Number One African Bad Girl” initially took to her Instagram to tease her fans with a little sneak peek video of herself alongside a producer, jamming to a harmonious blend of her voice and that of  American music star Brandy, in anticipation of her new EP “Water and Garri” on August 12.

Tiwa subsequently released the album on August 20.

The album “Water and Garri”  contained five songs that expresses the deep quest and hopeful thoughts of the afro-pop artist through her music.

She also featured other talented artists like Nas, Rich King, Amaarae, Tay Iwar, and Brandy.

Davido’s DMW new female artist, Liya, also dropped her first groundbreaking EP titled “Alari”, meaning “stand out.”

Liya had released two singles, “Be My Vibe” and “Melo” shortly after she was signed onto the DMW record label in 2020 as the first and only female artist on the crew. The singles brought her into the limelight.

This week, the 24-year-old “Melo” crooner released her entire EP of six  “rich Yoruba chants” that thrilled the ears of her listeners.

Tiwa and Liya’s releases come barely a few weeks after another Nigerian female artist Ayra Star,  blew the minds of many with her “19 and dangerous” album.

Another celebrity marriage hits rock bottom as Anita Okoye, wife of artist Paul Okoye a.k.a Rudeboy filed for divorce.

During the week, a picture of the official application for divorce surfaced online.

The shocking separation is said to be based on “irreconcilable differences” between the admirable couple despite being married for over seven years with three kids.

According to Pulse News, Anita Okoye is currently demanding to be paid a whopping sum of $15,000 (N7.8M) monthly as spousal support.

Big Brother “Shine Ya Eye” Season 6 housemates consistently continue to entertain the reality show lovers with their usual escapades.

On August 15, Princess and Arin were evicted from the game.

Week five started with the withdrawal of a housemate Kayvee, who had to exit the show to seek proper medical aid after he exhibited unwell behaviour.

The usual Head of House dice game commenced on Monday, where all housemates contested for the HOH position, except Pere who won last week and is not valid to contest again yet.

Maria emerged as the winner and she chose Boma as his deputy.

The show took an unusual twist this week as no housemate was nominated for possible eviction.

Housemates had to channel their innermost talents as individuals and as a group to participate in various tasks provided by show sponsors with cash gifts and more incentives attached to them.

Viewers were entertained with housemate’s different love interests stories, talent exhibition, expected gbas gbos, and of course weekly epic Saturday live party.
