GOTW: Shocking showbiz reconciliations, BBNaija commences, Esther wins The Voice Nigeria

This week, the showbiz industry witnessed shocking reconciliations that were hardly anticipated among popular celebrities.
Firstly, longtime BBNaija friends-turned-enemies, Erica and Laycon, almost broke the internet by posting a comfy video on their respective Instagram stories to announce their reconciliation after harbouring beef for over a year.
In the “lockdown” season 5 of the reality show, the duo who started off as friends, eventually had a fall out that led to Erica’s disqualification and Laycon emerging as the winner.
After a whole year of online brawl between their humongous fan bases, the duo finally called off the beef to preach “love and light”.
Secondly, one of the longest running animosity in the showbiz industry between veteran musical group “Plantashun Boiz” has finally been called to an end in respect and honor to their late friend Sound Sultan.
The reconciliation between the trio of Blackface, 2face and Faze happened on stage at the tribute night held for the late Sound Sultan on July 24, in Lagos.
The trio put hands together and gave each a warm pat on stage and afterwards performed a few of their songs as they paid tribute to Sound Sultan who passed on a few weeks ago.
In another showbiz development, aspiring singer Esther Benyeogo emerged winner of the Season 3 of musical talent show, The Voice Nigeria, on Saturday July 24, 2021.
With groundbreaking performances for 18 weeks, the singer thrilled the hearts of many Nigerians and gained their votes.
“I am grateful to The Voice Nigeria and my fans out there for this amazing experience. It has been my utmost joy to come on your screens every week and share my gift on such a huge platform,” the elated Esther said.
“I am thankful to my coach, Coach Darey, for making my time here truly rewarding, and for equipping me with the skills to give this my best shot,” she said, appreciating her coach.
The singer was rewarded with N10 million, an SUV, and a recording contract from Universal Music Group.
And to the last Gist Of The Week (GOTW), Nigeria’s biggest reality show, Big Brother Nigeria Season 6 “Shine Ya Eye”, has finally commenced.
Fans and viewers were thrilled as the most anticipated reality show returned to the big screen with the first batch of 11 male housemates revealed.
The show returns highly rebranded with a lot of twists and turns that wowed the viewers and housemates.
The first premiere happened on July 24 and the second will be on July 25, 2021.
The second batch of housemates are expected to be unveiled on Sunday.
