Gov. AbdulRasaq mourns Sun newspapers’ Kwara correspondent

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has expressed shock over the death of The Sun newspapers correspondent in the state, Layi Olanrewaju.

The statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Friday in Ilorin, conveyed the governor’s heartfelt condolences to all affected.

Mr AbdulRazaq commiserated with the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Correspondents’ Chapel, The Sun Newspapers’ management, and the late Olarewaju’s immediate family.

He described Mr Olanrewaju as a veteran journalist and media unionist, whose legacy reflected decades of excellent reporting and dedication to colleagues’ welfare.

The governor prayed that God would console the family and grant eternal repose to the soul of the deceased journalist.

Mr Olanrewaju died on Friday after a brief illness.
