The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Mohammed Bashir has said Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq follows the counsels of clerics in administering the state.

The cleric made the disclosure on Saturday at a special prayer to mark the second anniversary of Mr AbdulRazaq’s second year in office.

The special prayer session, which took place at the Emir of Ilorin’s palace ground, was organised by stakeholders in Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state.

The Chief Imam noted that Mr AbdulRazaq always did what God wanted him to do, hence the reason for thanking God on his second year anniversary.

According to him, the governor is appreciating God because he did what God wanted.

Earlier, an Islamic cleric, Suleiman Dan Borno, who delivered a sermon at the event admonished Nigerians to always thank God in whatever they do.

“We should always give thanks to God. If you do not thank God, God will not do another thing for you and will take away what He has given you,” the cleric said.

He commended AbdulRazaq for the successes recorded in two years of his administration.

According to him, achievements in two years are not enough, charging the governor to continue to impact on people’s lives by recording more achievements in the remaining two years of his government.

Mr Dan Borno prayed that God will continue to guide the governor right to enable him record more achievements and touch the lives of the people of Kwara.

Clerics at the venue later recited verses from the Holy Qur’an as part of the prayer.
