Gov Abiodun swears in two commissioners

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun has sworn in two new commissioners, Olayemi Sanusi and Adenike Ademokun, urging them to prioritise the state’s interests above personal, political and sectional considerations.
Mr Abiodun gave the charge on Monday during the swearing-in ceremony at the Governor’s Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
He urged the commissioners to demonstrate integrity, humility, fairness and commitment to public service while remaining accessible to residents and responsive to their concerns.
The governor also charged them to exercise prudence in managing public resources, stressing that their appointments must translate into tangible benefits for the people.
He emphasised continuity in governance, urging them to preserve institutional knowledge, maintain proper records and ensure the completion of ongoing projects and programmes.
Mr Abiodun advised the commissioners to familiarise themselves with the administration’s priorities, assess existing projects and bring fresh energy, sound judgment and a sense of responsibility to their assignments.
“Public confidence grows when citizens can see that those they entrusted with leadership understand their needs and act to address them.
“We are now in the final lap of this administration. This period demands urgency, discipline, political maturity and a steadfast pursuit of excellence,” he said.
The governor said the commissioners were joining an administration with significant achievements and outstanding responsibilities.
Speaking on behalf of the commissioners, Ms Ademokun expressed appreciation to the governor for the confidence reposed in them.
She assured him that they would not take their appointments for granted, pledging their commitment to supporting the administration’s development agenda.
