Gov Alia commends Benue APC stakeholders for embracing peace
Governor Hyacinth Alia has commended stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Benue for honouring his invitation to a reconciliation meeting.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by his chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, in Makurdi.
Mr Alia specifically lauded the stakeholders for embracing the path of peace after three years of lingering internal crises within the party.
He expressed optimism that the resolutions reached would usher in a new phase of unity, cooperation, and cohesion among APC members in the state.
The governor urged stakeholders and their supporters to sustain the momentum by embracing dialogue, mutual respect, and collective responsibility in advancing the party’s interests.
He also wished all stakeholders success in their respective aspirations and called for continued collaboration to pursue peace, development, and good governance in the state.
Mr Alia commended the peaceful conduct of the meeting and the spirit of reconciliation demonstrated by participants, describing the outcome as a major step toward rebuilding trust and confidence within the party.
He noted the presence of key party leaders, including the secretary to the government of the federation, George Akume; former governor Gabriel Suswam; and former deputy governor Stephen Lawani.
The governor also acknowledged the attendance of past and serving members of the National Assembly, members of the Benue State House of Assembly, serving federal government appointees, and other critical stakeholders.
He said their presence underscored a shared commitment to the party’s unity, stability, and progress in Benue.
