Gov Bago urges electorate to vote massively for APC in Niger LG polls

Governor Umaru Bago of Niger has called on electorates across the state to come out en masse and vote for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 1, 2025, local government elections.
Mr Bago made the call while inaugurating the APC campaign on Saturday, ahead of the elections.
He expressed optimism that the ruling party would emerge victorious in all 25 chairmanship and 274 councillorship positions.
The governor commended party members for their steadfastness, loyalty, and unwavering support for his administration and that of President Bola Tinubu.
He urged them to sustain their commitment and continue working to ensure the success of the APC at all levels.
Mr Bago also charged APC stakeholders and supporters to work assiduously to ensure the party comes out victorious in the forthcoming council elections.
He stressed that the federal and state governments were partnering to ensure that the security challenges confronting the state and Nigeria were overcome in no distant time to bolster peace, stability, and development.
The governor, therefore, donated vehicles to each local government council, except Paikoro, which was involved in a case concerning its party’s primary election. Mr Bago said that until the court decides the case, it cannot benefit.
Also, the speaker of the Niger House of Assembly and director-general of the state APC campaign council for the upcoming local government council election, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, expressed his gratitude to party faithful and the people of the state for their impressive turnout.
He said the council elections would be a litmus test of the ruling party’s integrity, capacity, and popularity. He assured that all APC candidates would be victorious.
APC national vice chairman, North-Central, Mu’azu Bawa-Rijau, who represented the party’s national chairman, said the remarkable achievements of the APC across the nation were a true reflection of the party’s change mantra.
Mr Bawa-Rijau maintained that Messrs Tinubu and Bago would surely win their second-term elections in 2027.
The state APC chairman, Aminu Musa-Bobi, said the party would abide by all the laid-down electoral guidelines and would accept the outcome of the elections.
