Gov. Bago warns corps members against internet fraud, other crimes

Gov. Umaru Bago of Niger has cautioned corps members against indulging in cybercrime and acts capable of destroying their lives and the honour of their homes.
Mr Bago gave the advice during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream One orientation course in Paikoro Local Government Area on Wednesday.
He said that as the greatest asset of any nation, the youths needed to live exemplary lives.
He said that the NYSC scheme had been a veritable platform for harnessing collective energies and creative abilities of graduate youth towards the attainment of national cohesion and development.
Mr Bago also lauded the corps members for their resilience in the last three weeks and urged them to replicate the lessons learned during the orientation course.
Speaking earlier, the NYSC coordinator in Niger, Abdulwahab Alidat, enjoined the corps members to perform their duties with due diligence.
She also urged them to be guided by the provisions of the NYSC and by-laws, as well as workplace ethics.
Ms Alidat also charged them to undertake personal and group community development projects that would uplift the living standards of their host communities.
She cautioned the corps members against staying out late, night parties, unauthorised journeys and night trips and accepting car rides from strangers.
She appealed to corps employers to always accept corps members posted to them and make necessary provisions for their welfare.
