Gov. Buni unveils 10-year devt masterplan for Damaturu

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has unveiled the implementation of a 10-year development masterplan for Damaturu, the state capital.
This is contained in a Sunday statement by Usman Geidam, the Yobe Geographic Information Service (YOGIS) spokesman in Damaturu.
The approval of the master plan, the state government said, is a fitting answer to the remodelling of the state’s pathway towards a realistic and consistent socio-economic development paradigm, properly articulated as long-term visioning and planning.
Mr Buni noted that the master plan was not updated in over two and half decades.
“The master plan will produce an overarching planning document and spatial layout which will guide the land use in Damaturu.
“The plan will also recommend sites for public use, economic activities, affordable housing, transportation, infrastructure, community facilities, and other land uses.
“This will be obtained by reviewing the current and existing plan,” he said.
The governor said his administration would implement the plan to put Damaturu on a pedestal of sustainable socio-economic development, especially with reforms on land administration.
