Gov Fintiri to spend N15 billion on Adamawa women’s empowerment

The Adamawa government says it has committed more than N15 billion to women’s empowerment towards viable economic activities.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri disclosed this on Wednesday in Yola at a special broadcast to mark the first anniversary of his second tenure in office.
Mr Fintiri said the state achieved this by working with the World Bank.
”Precisely one year ago, I took another oath of office for my second term. I remain immensely grateful for the confidence and the opportunity to further serve. I wish to use this opportunity to reiterate my commitment to serve you with unwavering determination,” said the governor.
Mr Fintiri also announced that he had since directed that 10,000 beneficiaries be selected and given N50,000 each under the Fintiri Business Wallet Scheme every quarter.
”I have also constituted a committee on Food Security in the state; the committee has submitted a report that is already receiving favourable attention.
”We have commenced plans to prepare, in phases, 300 hectares of land in every local government area and make it available for cultivation by our youths.
”We shall continue to support all farming activities and livestock husbandry with inputs and improved varieties of seeds,” he said.
Mr Fintiri further reaffirmed his commitment to conduct elections into the local government councils in July 2024.
