Gov. Idris commends retiring Kebbi CP for enhancing adequate security

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has commended the outgoing state Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, for his dedication and contributions to peace and security during his tenure.
Mr Idris made the commendation on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi at a send-off ceremony organised in honour of the former CP.
Mr Sani retired from the Nigeria Police Force after 34 years of service upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60.
The governor described him as a disciplined professional and committed officer, who served the state as its 37th Commissioner of Police with uncommon dedication.
“Security was significantly strengthened in the state under Sani’s leadership through improved crime prevention, intelligence-led policing and effective collaboration among security agencies,” he said.
He added that the cordial relationship between the state government and security agencies during Mr Sani’s tenure enhanced timely responses to security challenges and ensured sustained peace and stability in Kebbi State.
Mr Idris thanked the outgoing CP for his selfless service, loyalty and commitment to duty, noting that his contributions to the safety of lives and property would remain indelible in the memory of the people of Kebbi State.
The governor, represented by the state Commissioner for Internal Security, Aliyu Halilu-Wasagu, wished Mr Sani good health, fulfilment and continued relevance in service to humanity and the nation.
In his farewell remarks, Mr Sani expressed gratitude to God, the Federal Government, the NPF and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the opportunity to serve the nation.
He appreciated the support of the Kebbi State Government under Mr Idris.
Mr Sani said that Mr Idris’ commitment to security reforms and provision of critical infrastructure enhanced effective policing and community trust in the state.
He thanked officers and men of the Kebbi State Police Command, sister security agencies, the Police Community Relations Committee and other stakeholders for their cooperation and support.
Mr Sani recalled colleagues that lost their lives in the line of duty and prayed for God’s forgiveness for their shortcomings.
The event was attended by top government officials; various heads of security agencies; members of the judiciary; traditional rulers and other stakeholders. (NAN)
