Gov. Idris vows to prioritise indigenous contractors for state development

Gov. Nasir Idris of Kebbi has pledged continued patronage of indigenous contractors to fast-track sustainable social and economic development in the state.
He made the pledge during an inspection tour of ongoing infrastructure projects on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi.
The governor was excited, particularly by the level of work so far at the ongoing ultramodern State Secretariat Complex, Birnin Kebbi.
Mr Idris urged the contractors to ensure quality jobs that would stand the test of time and advised them to work hard to keep to the contractual agreement.
The governor, who inspected the conference hall, Mosque, offices and premises of the secretariat, applauded the two contractors handling the projects: ZBCC Construction Company and M-TEC Construction Nigeria Ltd.
Mr Idris also commended the secretary to the state government, Yakubu Bala-Tafida, the head of service, Safiyanu Garba-Bena, and the Kebbi state ministry of works for ensuring effective supervision of the projects.
He assured that more development projects would be executed in the state capital and the four Emirate Councils of the state.
“I will do a quality job for my people, I promised to deliver dividends of democracy to them, just as I pledged during my electioneering campaign and InSha-Allah, I will fulfil it. This is just the beginning.
“Let me also use this medium to salute M-Tech Company for their work and the contractor handling the solar street lights project,” he said.
