Gov Mbah activates LOC office for CoalCity 2026 sports festival

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has directed the immediate activation of the local organising committee (LOC) office for the National Sports Festival (NSF), tagged CoalCity 2026 Games.
The governor also ordered the commencement of media publicity, marketing strategies, sensitisation, and nationwide mobilisation to ensure the festival is hosted successfully.
Dan Onwuegbuna, media assistant to the Commissioner for Sports, Lloyd Ekweremadu, announced this in a statement on Friday in Enugu.
He said Mr Mbah gave the directive during a working visit by the advisory team of the main organising committee (MOC) of the festival to the government house, Enugu.
Mr Mbah assured the committee and the people of the state that the festival will not suffer postponements.
The advisory team, led by the MOC consultant, Kweku Tandoh, visited to provide the governor with a comprehensive briefing on the state of preparations for the games.
The team also brought to the governor’s attention critical areas requiring his intervention to ensure the successful hosting of the festival as scheduled.
Team members included Mr Tandoh, Emmanuel Igbinosa, Sunday Odebode, and Idowu Oladipopo.
Also in attendance were Mr Ekweremadu and Bamiduro Olumide, the assistant secretary of MOC and Secretary of LOC.
