Gov Mutfwang condemns attack on Plateau village
Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has condemned the violent attack in Kassa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, which resulted in the loss of lives.
In a statement on Friday, signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the governor said the incident occurred on Thursday and described it as deeply regrettable and unacceptable.
He commiserated with the families of those who lost their loved ones and assured the people of Kassa and the entire state that security agencies are already taking necessary steps to fish out the perpetrators and prevent further occurrences.
“The government appreciates the expression of grief by the families and communities of the deceased but urges all to sustain peace in the affected community without blockage of the road and thereby putting travellers in jeopardy,” he said.
The governor said the road is clear and open to motorists and other road users.
He added that citizens are therefore urged to go about their lawful activities without fear, while remaining vigilant and cooperating with security agencies.
The governor added that he remained committed to strengthening collaboration with security agencies and communities across the state to improve the security network and build sustainable peace.
He also called on traditional, religious, and community leaders, as well as all peace-loving citizens, to support ongoing efforts to prevent escalation and maintain calm in Kassa, Barkin Ladi, and other vulnerable communities.
