Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, on Wednesday, inaugurated the electronic registration exercise for members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Mr Mutfwang, accompanied by APC national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, launched the exercise in Kanam and Langtang North Local Government Areas.

Speaking separately, the governor said the digital registration would enable new members to properly join the party.

He added that the exercise would also allow existing members to revalidate their membership records.

“We are taking our destiny into our own hands and moving together as one people.

“This digital registration exercise will translate our unity into measurable political strength,” he said.

The governor urged eligible citizens, especially those who recently turned 18, to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration.

Mr Mutfwang said his decision to join the APC was driven by Plateau’s interest, pledging to work with Mr Yilwatda to move the system forward.

He said his administration was improving security, agriculture, youth and women empowerment, tourism and hospitality.

Earlier, Mr Yilwatda thanked Mr Mutfwang for joining the APC, promising him his rightful place as party leader in the state.

He assured members of a level playing field, stressing the APC’s commitment to fairness and transparency.

Mr Yilwatda said: “We were never enemies; we only had political differences.

“Today marks the beginning of a new political consensus anchored on development and inclusion.”

He said alignment with the federal government enhances access to development, urging residents to support Mr Mutfwang and President Bola Tinubu.
