Gov Namadi loses son day after mother’s death

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has condoled with his Jigawa counterpart, Governor Umar Namadi, over the death of his eldest son, Abdulwahab Namadi, who died in an auto crash.
The incident occurred after the passing of Maryam Namadi, Mr Abdulwahab’s paternal grandmother, on Wednesday.
Sunusi Tofa, the Kano governor’s spokesperson, said in a statement that Mr Yusuf described the loss as a tremendous tragedy for the Namadi family, Jigawa and the northern region.
Mr Yusuf commended the deceased for his dedication to his community’s progress and development, describing him as a young man with a bright future.
The governor’s son would be laid to rest in Kafin Hausa, Jigawa, in line with Islamic rites.
Mr Yusuf offered prayers for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and strength for the bereaved family to endure the loss.
“This is a deeply sorrowful moment for Jigawa. I pray that Almighty Allah grants the deceased eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and comfort the Namadi family and the people of Jigawa during this trying period,” the governor added.
Mr Namadi’s deceased son was involved in a motor accident while returning from Kafin Hausa to Dutse with his friends.
He was said to have lost control of the vehicle he was driving, causing it to somersault.
Some of his friends involved in the accident were receiving treatment at the Dutse General Hospital.
