Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the construction and rehabilitation of key federal roads in the state.

Mr Oyebanji gave the commendation on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti while receiving leaders of Afenifere in his office, describing the projects as critical to economic growth and improve the welfare of residents.

He said the road interventions, including links to neighbouring states such as Ondo State and Osun, would enhance regional connectivity and stimulate commerce across the South-West.

The governor noted that several federal road projects had already reduced travel time between Akure and Ado-Ekiti, while others under construction would further strengthen transportation and trade.

He added that ongoing works, including road rehabilitation and new concrete pavement routes, as well as plans to link the state to the Osogbo rail line, demonstrated the federal government’s commitment to infrastructure development in the state.

Mr Oyebanji also thanked the group for endorsing Mr Tinubu and his administration, describing the endorsement as recognition of tangible development projects and improved socio-economic policies.

He assured residents that his government would continue to implement programmes aimed at boosting agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare, while maintaining party cohesion in governance decisions.

Earlier, the Ekiti chapter of Afenifere reaffirmed its endorsement of both Messrs Tinubu and Oyebanji for re-election, citing what it described as purposeful leadership and measurable achievements in governance.

The group pledged continued support for the administration’s development agenda and reaffirmed its commitment to working for their electoral success in forthcoming polls.
