Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has expressed condolences to the families of the victims of an accident involving the state’s transport authority vehicle.

The governor expressed his condolences in a statement in Katsina on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mallam Ibrahim Kaula.

According to him, the incident which occurred on Friday, involved an 18-seater KTSTA bus, enroute to Abuja from their office in the Kankara Local Government Area of the state.

He further explained that ongoing repairs on the Kaduna/Abuja highway caused the accident.

“The construction work required diversion of traffic, with contractors placing heavy machinery in close proximity to the area, inadvertently contributing to the unfortunate incident.

“Regrettably, seven lives, including two children and the bus driver, were lost to the accident,” he said.

The statement noted that Mr Radda expressed sympathy and stood in solidarity with the bereaved families and the people of the state during this difficult time.

“On behalf of the entire people of the state, I pray to Allah SWT, seeking solace for the departed souls and beg the Almighty to grant them Jannatul Firdaus. The state government remains committed to ensuring the safety of its citizens and will work diligently to prevent such tragic incidents in the future,” Mr Radda assured.

The governor further urged people of the state to come together and support one another during the trying times.

Similarly, Mr Radda also extended his condolence message to the Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, on the death of his Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy, Mallam Isa Gusau.

According to him, the loss of Mr Gusau was deeply felt, adding that “our thoughts are with the Borno State Government and the family of the departed.”
