Gov. Radda condoles Kaduna govt. over Zaria mosque incident

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina has commiserated with the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu-Bamalli, the emirate council, and the Kaduna State government on the tragic incident that claimed lives in Zaria Central Mosque.
The governor extended the condolence message in a statement by his chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kalau, on Sunday in Katsina.
Mr Radda offered his prayers to the affected families and the entire people of Zaria during this difficult time.
“The tragedy has touched not just the immediate circles but also the wider community, which has come together in shared grief.
“Thoughts and prayers are being offered for the departed souls, reflecting the compassion and unity that define the spirit of the people,” he said.
Mr Radda reaffirmed his commitment to fostering strong bonds between neighbouring states and extended his continued support to all those affected by the incident.
He explained that the people of Katsina stood hand in hand with their brethren in Kaduna State during this trying period.
The incident occurred on Friday when part of the mosque collapsed and claimed lives, as several worshipers also sustained injuries.
It occurred while the Muslim faithful observed their prayers around 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
The Zaria Central Mosque, constructed in the 1830s, had for decades opened its doors to Muslim faithful from all parts of the world.
