Gov. Radda lauds Tinubu group campaign for empowering 1,040 Katsina traders

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has commended a political support group, Tinubu/Dikko Assured (TDA 2027), for empowering about 1,040 small-scale traders in the state.
The governor made the commendation on Friday at the empowerment of 330 beneficiaries from Funtua Senatorial zone, held in the Funtua Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Represented by the state Commissioner for Health, Musa Adamu, Mr Radda said the empowerment would go a long way in boosting the state’s economy.
Mr Radda added that it would also encourage youth entrepreneurship and boost small-scale enterprises which formed the backbone of the state’s economy.
He further explained that the invaluable gesture would boost the productivity of the small-scale business owners, make them self-reliant, while reducing unemployment in the state.
According to the governor, the initiative will also complement his administration’s poverty reduction efforts, pledging further collaboration with the TDA.
Mr Radda also urged other organisations to promote job creation and wealth creation by supporting small businesses in the state and the country as a whole.
The TDA Chairman, Umar Ahmad-Zayyad, explained that 30 beneficiaries were selected from each LGA, while 50 beneficiaries were selected from Katsina LGA.
He said, “Each of the beneficiaries will receive a N30,000 business incentive. Our aim is to boost entrepreneurship and economic growth. This is in line with the youth empowerment objectives of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and also Radda’s ‘Building Your Future’ agenda. The beneficiaries for this empowerment include 15 women and 15 young men from each LGA.”
According to Mr Ahmad-Zayyad, the group had empowered 360 beneficiaries in Daura zone, 350 in Katsina zone and 330 in Funtua zone.
“This is just the beginning as we plan to empower more traders with business incentives to encourage youth entrepreneurship in the state,” he said.
Urging the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support by expanding their businesses, the TDA chairman commended the federal and Katsina governments’ efforts in fighting insecurity, which he said would encourage the growth of businesses in the state.
Earlier, the Patron of TDA, Dr Muttaqa Rabe-Darma, explained that the organisation was also actively engaged in mobilising broader support for the policies and programmes of the Tinubu and Radda administrations.
