Gov. Yahaya chooses Jamilu Gwamna as Gombe governorship consensus candidate

The governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Yahaya, has presented Jamilu Gwamna as consensus governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At a meeting held on Sunday and chaired by the governor, Mr Yahaya raised Mr Gwamna’s hand saying that he emerged as the preferred candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development came amid the declaration of interest in the governorship race by a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.
Mr Yahaya stated, “This is our consensus gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State, by the will of God. With the selection, acceptance, and the position taken by this committee as well as the government, we hope for Allah’s help.
“From today, Dr Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna has emerged as our gubernatorial candidate. May God grant us success.”
