Gov. Yusuf dissolves Kano consumer protection council

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has approved the immediate dissolution of the board of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.
The decision followed a prolonged leadership crisis within the council, despite intervention efforts to restore peace and foster harmonious working relationships.
The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, instructed the affected officials to hand over the activities of their offices and government properties to the council’s most senior officer by the close of business on Monday.
The directive is contained in a statement by the press secretary, office of the SSG, Musa Muhammad, on Saturday.
Mr Muhammad said the chairman, the executive secretary, and all board members, including ex officio members, were relieved of their appointments with immediate effect.
Handover documents are to be submitted to the SSG’s Office’s Research, Evaluation, and Political Affairs Directorate and the commissioner, Ministry for Investment and Commerce.
