Gov Yusuf reconstitutes sports commission, names new Kano Pillars board
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of members of the Kano State Sports Commission and the management board of Kano Pillars Football Club.
This is part of ongoing efforts to reposition sports administration and youth development in the state, according to a statement issued on Thursday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature-Dawakin-Tofa.
“The appointments to the Sports Commission include Alhaji Tukur Babangida as chairman, with representatives from ALGON, higher institutions, persons with disabilities, and other stakeholders.
“Similarly, Ahmad Musbahu was named chairman of the Kano Pillars management board, alongside members drawn from the club’s fan base, sports ambassadors, and experienced administrators,” he said.
The spokesperson quoted his principal as charging the appointees to deploy their expertise to strengthen sports development, nurture talent, and restore the glory of Kano Pillars Football Club.
The governor expressed confidence that the new leadership would usher in professionalism, excellence, and achievements in the state’s sporting sector.
