Gov. Zulum flags off construction of N5.8 billion second flyover bridge in Maiduguri

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno flagged off the construction of a 600-metre flyover bridge at the “Borno Express’’ terminal area in Maiduguri on Saturday.
The project, the second of its kind in Maiduguri, is to cost N5.8 billion.
The governor said the bridge would further decongest traffic gridlocks in the area and increase infrastructural development in the state capital.
“Government shall ensure prompt release of funds for the project.
“We enjoin the contractor to ensure good quality work as we are determined to provide more dividends of democracy for the people of Borno in our second tenure,’’ Mr Zulum said.
Borno awarded the contract for the construction of the bridge to a Chinese company, which is expected to complete work on the project before the end of 2023.
