Governor Umaru Bago has called on Nigerians to key into President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ for the administration’s success.

He made the call during a live broadcast to commemorate the country’s 63rd independence anniversary in Minna on Sunday.

Mr Bago, represented by Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba, also urged Nigerians to understand and respect each other’s diversity for the peace and progress of Nigeria.

The Niger governor said, “We should let our commitment to support governments at all levels remain unwavering. Our administration is focused on delivering people-oriented projects that have a direct impact on the lives of the masses to change their economic and social status. As Muslims or Christians, we are one people under God, North or South. We are all Nigerians with one destiny netted together in the project Nigeria.”

Mr Bago explained that “we have to coexist without any acrimony, rancour and hostility, rather with compassion and mutual respect for one another so as to overcome our challenges as a nation.”

He encouraged Nigerians to “cherish the dreams of our forefathers, the diversity of our culture, and the unity that binds us.”

He, however, assured that his administration was poised to see a justifiable management of state resources and solicited the support of residents in delivering on the dividends of democracy.

The governor disclosed that his government is already building a new Niger state through renewed security strategies to ensure the safety of lives and property.

Mr Bago reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring lasting peace returns to all troubled parts of Niger, advising the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to appropriate authorities.
