Mohammed Nma-Kolo, special adviser (political) to Governor Umaru Bago of Niger, has urged citizens of the state to shun protests and support the current administration to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to them.

Mr Nma-Kolo, who addressed journalists on Monday in Minna on the backdrop of the planned EndBadGovernance protests, urged the youths to disregard any call to protest for selfish interests.

He advised that the peace being enjoyed in the state should not be truncated by any form of protest but channelled towards productive ventures.

Mr Nma-Kolo said Mr Bago’s APC-led administration had demonstrated the commitment to bring about a new Niger so far.

He said that while the government was providing massive infrastructure development accompanied by peace, security, and unity, it required all support.

Mr Nma-Kolo said the government had carried everyone along, irrespective of ethnic, political and religious affiliations.

The special adviser assured that the government would continue to live above board in spite of challenges.

Mr Nma-Kolo said there was no society without its peculiar challenges, but Mr Bago mitigated them.

He said all political stakeholders had unhindered access to the government for constructive suggestions and admonished them to leverage that to ventilate the window of positive engagement.

“We must join hands together to ensure that we support the ongoing massive development in the state and disregard anybody who wants to lure us into acts that are inimical to development,” he said.

He lauded the conduct of key political players across all political parties in the state for their maturity and adherence to rules of engagement.
