Governor Fubara sacks all commissioners, other political appointees

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has sacked all his commissioners and other political appointees. He expressed gratitude to members of his cabinet for their contributions to the state’s development in the past two years.
Mr Fubara made the commendation during a valedictory session for his cabinet and at an event to mark Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary at Government House in Port Harcourt.
The governor emphasised the significance of Nigeria’s Independence Day, urging all Nigerians to work together with President Bola Tinubu to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous country.
He reiterated his commitment to serving the state with renewed vigour and thanked citizens for their support.
Mr Fubara also used the medium to relieve all his commissioners and public officers of their appointments, adding that the action was in compliance with the recent Supreme Court judgment on their appointments.
He stated that the dissolution took effect immediately and urged the handing over of the government’s property to the most senior officials in the various ministries and agencies.
