Governor Otti approves rehabilitation of Enyimba-Ariaria road

Governor Alex Otti of Abia has approved the rehabilitation of Enyimba-Ariaria Road in the Ariaria International Market to further enhance business activities.
Mr Otti made this known on Tuesday during an on-the-spot assessment of a section of the market in Aba.
The governor said, “Yesterday, I approved the contract for the reconstruction of the Enyimba-Ariaria Road in Ariaria International Market.”
Mr Otti assured that work would commence on the road before the weekend.
“The road rehabilitation will stretch from inside the market to the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway,” he added.
The governor said the road rehabilitation was part of efforts made by the Abia government to provide a conducive environment for people to transact businesses in the market.
Mr Otti hoped the rehabilitation would boost commerce in Aba and the entire state.
He said the government was determined to sustain its environmental sanitation campaign, adding that he was in the market to ensure prompt refuse evacuation causing flooding.
“I was made to understand that waste is the major cause of the flooding experienced in Ariaria. This makes it very important for the evacuation to be done quickly,” Mr Otti said.
He directed relevant agencies to ensure the refuse would be evacuated within one week.
Mr Otti urged residents to complement the government’s efforts to clean up Abia by being actively involved in environmental sanitation.
