The budget comprises N87.25 billion, or 42 per cent, for recurrent expenditure and N120.5 billion, or 58 per cent, for capital expenditure.

In his first budget in his second tenure, Mr Yahaya tagged the proposal “Budget of Continuity and Consolidation,” saying it aimed to build on his first term’s achievements and consolidate past gains.

“The government envisages the collection of N121.9 billion as recurrent revenues and N138.9 billion as capital receipts,’’ he said.

He said budget performance for 2023 stood at 57.4 per cent as of the end of September.

Mr Yahaya urged the House of Assembly to scrutinise the budget and provide constructive insights to enrich the document to enhance citizens’ welfare.

Responding after the presentation, the speaker of the House of Assembly, Abubakar Luggerewo (APC-Akko Central), assured the governor of speedy consideration of the budget.
