A socio-political group, Grassroots Initiative for Otu/Odey 2027, says the Governor Bassey Otu-led government has performed well in agriculture, education and infrastructure in Cross River State.

The director-general, Friday Awade, made the expression at a press conference in Calabar on Thursday.

Mr Awade stated that Mr Otu had effectively delivered his government’s campaign promises to the people of Cross River.

According to him, the Otu-led administration has also done well in rural development and security.

The director-general identified the Tinapa Business Resort as one of the milestones recorded by the current state government.

“We are therefore endorsing the re-election bid of the governor and his deputy, Dr Peter Odey.

“As a group, we shall mobilise support for the governor across the 18 local government areas of the state.

“We shall embark on community engagement, sensitisation campaigns and consultations across the state to mobilise support for this project,” he said.

Mr Awade further said that the group’s position was borne out of the demand of Cross River people in different communities.

“We can tell you categorically that Cross River people are demanding continuity, stability, and sustained development in governance.

“Our advocacy for a unified ticket is based on proven performance and tested loyalty as demonstrated by the governor and his deputy,” he said.
