The Plateau Vanguard for Democracy says APC national chairman Nentawe Yilwatda’s leadership style reflects a deep commitment to reconciliation and inclusive politics.

The national chairman of the PVD, a socio-political group, Christopher Ishaku, gave the commendation in a statement on Monday.

Mr Ishaku also said that the APC’s national chairman’s declaration personally led the second-term campaign drive of Governor Caleb Mutfwang and showed humility, maturity and a sense of purpose, adding that the move signified a strong signal of unity and stability within the party.

According to him, Mr Yilwatda has demonstrated uncommon humility and statesmanship.

“His decision to rally all tendencies within the APC and to spearhead the second-term campaign of Governor Caleb Mutfwang shows that Plateau’s interest is greater than personal ambition,” he said.

He also noted that Plateau had endured painful years of division, insecurity, criminality and terrorist attacks that disrupted communities and undermined development.

‘’The only pathway to lasting peace and prosperity lies in unity of purpose among political actors and residents alike. We therefore call on supporters of Governor Mutfwang to be gracious and accommodating in embracing the interests and leadership role of the APC national chairman.

‘’Harmony between the governor and the national leadership of the party is critical to sustaining progress. We urge all supporters of the governor to rise above narrow sentiments and work collaboratively with the national chairman. ’This is not the time for internal rivalry but for collective action,’’ he said.

Mr Ishaku further said that a united Plateau under a cohesive APC would be better positioned to defeat the forces of criminality and terrorism that had rampaged parts of the state in recent years.

He also urged all stakeholders, political leaders, youth groups, women, traditional institutions, and civil society to close ranks and work together for peace, development, and a secure future for the state.
