Guber Poll: Tinubu urges Oyebamiji to reclaim Osun for APC

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bola Oyebamiji on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun, urging him to ensure the party’s victory at the polls.
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, hours after Mr Oyebamiji emerged as the candidate at the party’s primary election in Osogbo.
Mr Tinubu emphasised the need for the APC candidate to work towards reclaiming Osun for the progressives’ fold in the 2026 governorship election.
The president praised the Osun APC for the unity and reconciliation that characterised the primary election conducted through affirmation.
He commended all the aspirants who stepped down in support of Mr Oyebamiji, describing the gesture as a demonstration of party loyalty and commitment.
Mr Tinubu urged Mr Oyebamiji to be magnanimous in victory by embracing party leaders and former aspirants to sustain cohesion.
“The journey to reclaim Osun for the progressives’ fold in the 2026 governorship election has begun.
“I urge all the members and leaders of APC in the state to remain focused, united, and resolute. Victory is achievable, and together, we will succeed,” he said.
Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo chaired the primary election, where the cheerful delegates unanimously affirmed Mr Oyebamiji’s candidature.
