Gunmen kill two motorcyclists in Ondo

Tragedy struck on Wednesday in the Akoko area of Ondo State as two commercial motorcyclists were murdered in separate incidents.
Peoples Gazette gathered that Dada Jatto, 28, one of the cyclists who was earlier declared missing by his parents, was found dead.
Mr Jatto’s mutilated body was found at a bush path along Arigidi in the Okeagbe axis of Akoko by some local farmers.
Many residents revealed that Mr Jatto, a father of two kids, always left his house early in the morning to work.
The second victim was a northerner who was allegedly lured to a hideout between Ikare and Arigidi.
The victim, whose identity had yet to be revealed, was smashed on his head by his assailants while his bike was later stolen.
Some vigilantes who confirmed the killing of the two cyclists in a chat with journalists decried the level of insecurity between the border towns of Akunnu Akoko axis, Ondo and Kogi states.
Confirming the killing of the two cyclists in a brief spokesperson for the Ondo police command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya said investigation has commenced into the act.
Mrs Odunlami-Omisanya said the police were making efforts at ensuring the protection of lives and property of residents in the area.
