Gunmen shoot dead Philadelphia rapper Abdul Vicks

Police said the singer was shot multiple times in the chest and hand.

Philadelphia police are investigating the fatal shooting of Abdul Vicks, a prominent rapper affiliated with the street gang Young Bag Chasers.  

Known in the music world as “YBC Dul,” the 25-year-old was said to have been gunned down on Friday afternoon in the Olney neighbourhood, Pennsylvania.

According to WPVI Philadelphia, the shooting occurred around 3:34 p.m. on the 5500 block of N. 6th Street. 

Chopper video shows police investigating beside a grey Hyundai covered with bullets and the rapper was said to have moved behind the car for coverage.

Authorities reported that Vicks was struck multiple times in the chest and hand.

Despite being rushed to a local hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear. 

The Philadelphia police continue to investigate the incident, but details have yet to be released.
