Gyokeres brace powers Arsenal to 3-0 victory against Fulham

Arsenal extended their Premier League lead to six points ahead of Manchester City in the title race after a dominant 3-0 win over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
It only took nine minutes for Viktor Gyokeres to put the Gunners ahead as he only had to tap a pass by Bukayo Saka into an empty net.
He returned the favour for Saka in the 40th when the England international doubled the advantage.
Before Saka’s goal, Riccardo Calafiori thought he had put his name on the scoresheet after he headed home the winger’s cross, but the goal was ruled out by a video assistant referee for an offside.
Arsenal finished the job deep into the first half added time when Gyokeres got his brace courtesy of a cross into the box by Leandro Trossard, which the Sweden international nodded home.
Neither of the two teams managed to score in the second half as Mikel Arteta’s side picked up the important three points to take their season’s tally to 76 points.
However, City have played two games less than Arsenal and can halve the points deficit if they win one of the matches against Everton on Monday.
“I think both the performance and the result was important. We controlled the game very well. At this stage, we have to win the games that are left, and we showed today that we can have a good performance and get the three points. We always go into games believing we are going to play well and create a lot of chances.
“Today we did that, and we enjoyed it. We’ve never stopped believing, and we’re not going to. We will keep going. There’s still a lot to play for, and it’s onto the next one. It’s been a good week. We’ve got some good results. We’re on a good path, and we have to stay there,” Gyokeres said after the match.
