Hajj 2026: Kano pilgrims board screens 1,253 intending pilgrims

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has screened and immunised 1,253 intending pilgrims as part of the preparations for the 2026 hajj exercise.
The leader of the medical team, Aminu Da’u, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
According to him, the medical screening and immunisation exercise was conducted at the Hajj Camp Clinic.
Mr Da’u said that the prospective pilgrims were drawn from 20 local government areas.
“The exercise was aimed at ensuring that all the intending pilgrims are medically fit and properly immunised in line with national and international health requirements for hajj operations,” he said.
He said the importance of medical screening and immunisation in safeguarding the health and well-being of pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage period cannot be overemphasised.
Mr Da’u said the exercise was being conducted in phases to accommodate all the registered intending pilgrims across the state.
He assured the public that qualified healthcare professionals were handling the process with utmost care and professionalism.
Mr Da’u also stated that the board was committed to ensuring a smooth hajj operation, with priority placed on the health, safety and welfare of all the intending pilgrims.
He added that the screening and immunisation exercise would continue for the remaining pilgrims as scheduled.
