Harry to attend King Charles’ coronation without Meghan, children

Buckingham Palace says estranged Prince Harry, whose relationship with the British royal family remains strained, will attend next month’s coronation ceremony of his father, King Charles III.
But the prince would attend the occasion without his wife, Megan Markle and their two children.
“The Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet,” Prince Harry and Megan said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
Before now, it was unclear whether Prince Harry would attend his father’s coronation after his relationship with the royal family remained strained since their relocation from the UK three years ago.
Prince Harry will join about 2,000 other dignitaries from around the world on May 6 at London Westminster Abbey while Ms Markle remains in the U.S. with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, named after the late Queen Elizabeth’s childhood nickname.
The couple moved to the U.S. in 2020, shortly after they relinquished their royal duties citing claims that they were treated differently by other members of the royal family.
Prince Harry said an unnamed family member had raised concerns about the colour of his son Archie before he was born.
The curiosity might have set in due to Ms Markle having an African-American heritage whose gene expression, including complexion, may be visible in the couple’s children – the Duchess of Sussex revealed during a podcast that she traced back her ancestry to Nigeria.
