The chief executive officer of Heirs Energies, Osa Igiehon, says Africa’s energy future lies in unlocking frontier basins and sustainably managing mature brownfield assets.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mr Igiehon said he would share insights on responsibly unlocking Africa’s full energy potential at the 2025 U.S.-Africa Energy Forum.
The forum is scheduled for August 7 in Houston, Texas.
He said the event will focus on driving investments across hydrocarbons, natural gas, and renewable energy sectors.
Mr Igiehon noted that Heirs Energies’ participation reflects its commitment to partnerships that ensure energy security while supporting global sustainability goals.
Heirs Energies is a leading African-owned energy firm focused on innovation and environmental responsibility.
“Heirs Energies’ participation highlights our ambition to move Africa from energy deficiency to energy sufficiency. Our goal is to show that African-owned firms can operate responsibly, meet global standards, and deliver shared prosperity,” he said.
Mr Igiehon said the company’s strategy is guided by Africapitalism—private sector-led development for both economic and social progress.
“At the forum, we’ll demonstrate how this philosophy drives asset management, gas monetisation, and partnerships for local and global growth,” he said.
The company is also expanding gas infrastructure and currently supplies three power plants in Eastern Nigeria.
“Every molecule must count, not only for output, but for powering homes, fuelling industries, and setting standards for indigenous firms,” Mr Igiehon stated.
The forum gathers U.S. and African leaders, investors, and experts to explore strategic energy opportunities.
Mr Igiehon said he will present Heirs Energies’ vision for unlocking Africa’s energy potential in a sustainable and responsible manner.
He is scheduled to deliver an executive insight and join the Explorers Town Hall to share the company’s long-term strategy.
