Abducted staff from the recent school attack in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have appealed to Governor Seyi Makinde to urgently intervene and save the lives of all the abducted pupils and teachers.

In a viral video on Friday, a teacher and the principal of Community High School Esinele, Oyo State, Folawe Alamu, called on the state governor to engage the abductors and meet their demands to secure the release of the victims.

Mrs Alamu, in a distress tone, said the victims had spent 13 days with the abductors, under harsh rainy and sunny conditions.

“We beg you, in the name of God, have mercy on us. We are under the rain and sun. We are all here, both the old and young,” Mrs Alamu said.

“Today makes it the 13th day we have been here. Please let them free us. We do not want you to fight them. Please give them what they want. Have mercy on us,” she said.

Also speaking, a teacher who was visibly shivering and carrying a young girl called on the state governor to save the lives of the teachers and pupils currently in the kidnappers’ custody.

“We are pleading with our governor, Seyi Abiodun Makinde, please help us negotiate with these people. Whatever they want, please give it to them.

“Please, help us, save our lives. Please, we are all here, both the teachers and the children. Please, we need your help,” she said.

On Friday, May 15, the Peoples Gazette reported that two communities in Oriire LGA were attacked, two individuals were killed and several pupils and staff were abducted.

On Sunday, May 17, Michael Oyedokun, one of the abducted teachers at Community High School, Ahoro Esinele, was shot and beheaded by the suspects, as seen in a viral video.

In another viral video, Mrs Alamu, appealed to the federal government, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and well-meaning Nigerians to intervene and ensure a peaceful resolution of the matter to prevent further loss of life.
