Hisbah arrests 14 Yobe residents for engaging in prostitution, hard drugs
The Yobe Hisbah command has arrested 14 suspects for alleged prostitution and dealing in hard drugs.
Yusuf Yusuf, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, said this when he addressed journalists on Tuesday in Damaturu.
Mr Yusuf said the suspects were made up of nine women and five men, adding that they were arrested after an operation within Damaturu, including Gidan Ajayi, Zango, Bus Stop, and others.
He added that some suspects would be handed over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution while others would be counselled and rehabilitated.
‘’Others will be subjected to religious counselling from Ulamas, Islamic scholars, with the hope of rehabilitation,’’ he said.
