Hisbah seizes ‘Burukutu’, 96 bottles of alcoholic drinks in Jigawa
The Hisbah in Jigawa has intercepted eight 25-litre jerry cans of local alcoholic drink popularly known as “Burukutu”.
The interception was made in Maigatari Local Government Area of the state, where the Command also seized 96 bottles of assorted alcoholic drinks on Tuesday.
Jigawa Hisbah commander, Ibrahim Dahiru, on Tuesday in Dutse, said operatives seized the drinks at about 3:30 a.m. when they raided the area also known for assorted barbecue meat consumption.
He said the items, confiscated from one Garba Bakule who operates the revelling spot, were prohibited in the state.
Mr Dahiru said the suspect has been handed over to the police for further action, and commended residents for their supporting the Hisbah board.
