Housewife seeks dissolution of four-year-old marriage
A housewife, Halimat Nasiru, on Thursday approached an Upper Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja seeking the dissolution of her four-year-old marriage on grounds that she no longer loves her husband, Musa.
Nasiru told the court that she married Musa, according to Islamic laws in April 2020.
The mother of five, said that her husband no longer handles responsibilities.
She said, “I no longer love him and do not want to be his wife. I pray the court will grant my prayer for divorce.”
Musa begged the court to give him some time to address the problems with his wife.
He said, “I still love my wife. We have five children together and I do not want a divorce.’’
The Judge, Mohammed Wakili, adjourned the matter until September 23 for a report of settlement.
