Housewife seeks dissolution of three-year-old marriage over lack of love

A housewife, Jibike Sanusi, on Tuesday, approached a Kubwa Upper Area Court in Abuja, seeking dissolution of her three-year-old marriage to her husband, Alabi Oludare, on grounds of lack of love and affection.
The housewife told the court that she got married to her estranged husband in April 2021, in accordance with Islamic laws, and that the union was blessed with one daughter.
She said that the respondent neither took care of her and her daughter nor had any respect for her as his wife.
She stated, “My husband does not want me to have more children. I don’t love him anymore and don’t want to remain his wife again.’’
She, therefore, prayed the court to dissolve the marriage on the foregoing grounds.
The respondent, whom the court bailiff alleged to have evaded service, was not in court.
The Judge, Mohammed Wakili, however, ordered substituted service on the respondent and adjourned the matter until August 5 for hearing.
